To All our Reading Network Supporters:
It has been 8 months since we launched The Reading Network, and we thought it was time to let you know what we've been up to.
The simple idea we had, to create a link between the many children without access to books and families who have books in their homes that they are happy to donate, has proven successful. And the result is extremely beneficial and satisfying for everyone.
Over 1000 books have been donated by 40 people and we couldn't be more grateful.
What we didn't appreciate at the start, were the avenues through which the books would reach children across Islington and Hackney.
The obvious route was primary schools and we now have relationships with 4 schools who have enjoyed receiving books suitable for children from the early years to year 6. But with Covid making schools quite cautious about what they bring on site, we have looked for other ways to get books into the community.
None of this happens without your support and we just wanted to reach out and say Thank You! The books your children loved are now enjoyed by other children, what could be better!
